The short version

Everything Dozer shows you is computed on your device and stays there. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Dozer makes exactly one network request, and only when you tap to send feedback — you choose what that message includes, and you see it before it goes.

Health data

With your permission, Dozer reads sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, sleeping breathing disturbances, sleeping wrist temperature and workouts from Apple Health, to build your morning report. Wrist temperature and breathing disturbances depend on your Apple Watch model and iOS version. Access is read-only: Dozer asks for no permission to write, and writes nothing back to Apple Health.

If no tracker reported a night, Dozer can offer an estimated night instead, built from information it already reads: Apple's "in bed" spans and, if you used it, that night's listening session. An estimate covers time in bed only — no sleep stages, no vitals and no sleep score — and you confirm or adjust it yourself. Nothing about it is sent anywhere.

Microphone and sound clips

The microphone is used only if you turn on Night Listening, and only while a session is running. Audio is analysed on your iPhone frame by frame and discarded as it goes; nothing is streamed anywhere.

"Save sound clips" is on by default and can be switched off in Settings. While it is on, Dozer saves short clips of what it heard into its own app container on your iPhone. Those files are excluded from device backups, capped per listening session, and cleared automatically once they pass the age you pick under "Keep clips for" — 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, with 7 as the default. You can delete a single clip, or delete every clip at once, from Settings.

A clip has no transcript unless you tap "Generate transcript" on it. Transcription runs on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition, which Dozer requires rather than allowing a fall back to a server. The text is stored next to the clip and is deleted with it.

Dozer never uploads a clip or a transcript. You can share one yourself, as a video or an audio file, through the iOS share sheet — that is your action, and it goes wherever you send it.

What stays on your device

Your nights, tags, dream notes, morning check-ins, snore history, listening sessions and sound clips are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch and are not synced to any server by Dozer. The iPhone and the Watch exchange your alarm schedule and unlock status directly with each other; that stays between your own devices. Settings can also export your nights as a CSV file, which you then save or share yourself.

No accounts, no tracking

Dozer has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites. Purchases of Dozer+ are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; Dozer never sees your payment details.

Send feedback

The "Send feedback" form is the only part of Dozer that transmits anything, and it sends only when you tap to send. Your message is posted to Dozer's own feedback endpoint together with the feedback category, your iOS version, app version and build, and your device model. A star rating is included if you give one.

Three additions are optional and yours to make. A reply email address, so a reply is possible — leave it blank and there is none. One night's full detail, attached to the message: bed and wake times, stage totals, sleep latency, time awake, awakenings, score, heart, breathing and snore figures, the number of clips from that night, your tags and your morning check-in. And debug information: counters from the last listening session and a summary of the watch alarm log.

Both attachments are off by default, and each is shown to you in full inside the form before you send, so nothing about your sleep leaves the device unless you have read it and chosen to include it. Audio clips, transcripts and dream notes are never included, and your Apple Health data is never transmitted in any other circumstance.

Deleting your data

Deleting the Dozer app removes everything it stored on your device, including all sound clips and transcripts. Health data itself belongs to Apple Health and is unaffected; you can withdraw Dozer's access at any time in the Health app. Clips can also be cleared on their own, either by lowering "Keep clips for" or with the delete-all action in Settings.
